Use Open Folder to establish a project root. Explorer then owns the visible project tree, and selecting a supported source file opens it in a tab.

For Typst and LaTeX work, keep the main source file and its local dependencies inside the opened project folder. Resrch can create native Typst and LaTeX preview surfaces through the local Core daemon. Project trust or restricted-mode prompts may appear before local project capabilities are enabled; read the prompt and grant trust only to a folder whose contents you control.
